The City of Swisher has formed a Water Committee to investigate the feasibility of a Municipal Water System. The Committee worked with HR Green to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report to determine a preliminary plan for a Municipal Water System, recommend infrastructure needs, identify planning-level costs. In addition, the City Council has taken steps to implement design and construction standards for installing water main as part of recent developments that could ultimately be used for a community PWS. Treatment is not required for the target source but could be implemented in the future, if desired.
A citywide vote will take place on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Additional information about the vote has been posted on the Johnson County Auditor's website. The Johnson County Auditor's website does have a sample ballot available on their website. NOTE: If you do not live within the City of Swisher limits, even if you have a Swisher address, you are not part of the vote. You can check your address to see your specific ballot here: https://www.johnsoncountyiowa.gov/auditor/elections
