Sewer Lining Starting February 6th, 2026

SANITARY SEWER LINING PROJECT

 

 Municipal Pipe will begin a sewer lining project in Region 5 (SEE ATTACHED MAP) on Friday, February 6th. Work is expected to move quickly, with project completion anticipated by Saturday, February 7th. Residents who live within the repair area may receive a door‑posted notice with additional instructions. Please review that information carefully if it applies to your property. During the project, crews and equipment will be active in the area. Use caution when traveling through Region 5, and allow extra time for any temporary disruptions. Thank you for your patience as this important infrastructure work is completed.

Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, November 5th at 6:00 p.m. at the Swisher City Hall the Swisher Board of Adjustments will meet to discuss the following:

 

American Legion Post 671 of 68 3rd Street described as block 6, lot 13, lots 13 through 27 Swisher, Iowa request a variance from the required 15 feet rear yard setback to 7 feet for the north side yard lot lines for construction of new storage room with basement.

 

 

1st St and Rose Ave Sewer Repair - November 1st - November 14th

Update 10/30/2025:

UPDATE: Weather pending, on Monday, November 3, construction will begin on 1st Street SW to repair the collapsed storm sewer at Rose Avenue. Mobilization may occur as early as Friday, October 31.  Local traffic and access to homes will be allowed during construction by the contractor.  This work includes storm sewer installation, grading, pavement reconstruction, and seeding.   Construction is expected to last through Monday, November 11.  As always, please use caution when traveling in or around the limits of construction.

City Hall Reduced Hours

Due to the current search for a city clerk, city hall will have limited access to the public. This week city hall will be open to the public on August 18th from 9AM until 12PM and on Thursday August 21st from 8AM until 9AM.
